Delco Officials Speak To Middle Schoolers About Drug Abuse, Overdose Prevention

A Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education presentation at a Delco middle school highlighted hot to fight overdoses.

Officials from Delaware County visited a county middle school recently to discuss a difficult and sensitive topic: drug overdoses.

Delaware County Councilman Dave White and Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan participated in a Narcotics Overdose Prevention & Education (NOPE) presentation at Ridley Middle School on Tuesday.

The county NOPE program has provided drug prevention programs to over 27,000 students and 1,500 parents and community members and is funded by the county council.

Tuesday's presentation educates attendees about substance abuse and overdose deaths and gives suggestions and parenting strategies to combat the issues.
