Fans Lineup For Free Chicken At New Delco Chick-Fil-A

BROOKHAVEN, PA — Numerous people lined up outside the newest Chick-Fil-A location to open in Delaware County for a chance to win free chicken for a year.

The new location, at 4700 Edgemont Ave. in Brookhaven, opened Wednesday, Dec. 4 after a 12-hour tailgate party and dozens hoping to get the year-long deal.

On Wednesday morning, participants were led by the Chick-fil-A cow into the restaurant to receive their prize, while Team Members cheered, banging pots and pans.

This new location is 5,000 square feet and features a dual-lane drive-thru, as well as a 110-seat dining room with a two-story indoor playground and free Wi-Fi, along with a 20-seat outdoor patio;

Operator Todd Kanzinger, who joins a small percentage of operators owning two stand-alone restaurants, is a Pennsylvania native with a long history in the area. He became friends with a local Chick-fil-A Operator and was inspired by what he learned. He quickly realized that the operator opportunity aligned with his passion for leadership, community service and entrepreneurial goals and began the application process

"I am excited to expand my opportunities to serve our community both inside and outside my restaurants," said Kanzinger, who has awarded more than $32,000 in scholarships to his employees. "I am committed to developing my Team Members as together we provide a remarkable experience to our guests who become part of our family."

The new location will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with breakfast served until 10:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Chick-fil-A locations are closed on Sunday.

This is the fourth location to open this year in Pennsylvania, which received its first restaurant in 1973 at Exton Square Mall.

The new Brookhaven location is one of 120 new restaurants slated to open nationwide, creating more than 10,000 jobs.
