Herbs In The Burbs? Delco Weed Dispensary Site OKed: Report

A Delaware County municipality recently gave the green light on a proposal that would see a medical marijuana dispensary if all goes according to plan. The proposed site is in Upper Darby and would be home to one of the first medical marijuana dispensaries in Pennsylvania as the state moves forward with its medical marijuana laws.

The proposed site is 622 Industrial Park Drive in Upper Darby and it was given approval by Upper Darby's zoning officials recently.

Proposed by Chamounix Ventures Inc., the dispensary would allegedly work just like a typical pharmacy, where patients simply go in, pick up a prescription just like any other medication.

The Delaware County Times reports no one who attended the zoning meeting opposed the zoning decision or the dispensary.

Even with the approval granted to Chamounix on the local level, the state has yet to issue licenses for medical marijuana dispensaries, according to the times.
