Joel Embiid Attends Mass At Springfield Church Sunday

The Sixers star popped into the church for its 5:30 p.m. service Sunday evening.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Months ago, Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid was spotted jogging through the city. It's rather unorthodox for such a high profile athlete to just pop up in the city, and he did something similar Sunday by attending Mass at a Springfield church.

Embiid said his prayers at the 5:30 p.m. Mass at Saint Kevin Parish on West Sproul Road in Springfield.

The church posted photos of the star, who recently returned to play after an injury to his orbital bone, meeting with parishioners at the Mass to its Facebook page.

"We had quite a surprise tonight at the 5:30 Mass," the church said on Facebook. "God bless, Joel Embiid and his beautiful spirituality."

The post garnered hundreds of likes and shares on social media.
