Sandy Doesn't Stop Halloween In Springfield

Township decides against trick-or-treating restrictions.

While Hurricane Sandy raged in Springfield Monday and Tuesday, trick-or-treaters can still frolic Wednesday.

Springfield Township won't stand in the way of Halloween festivities, according to an official within the municipal building. Costumed candy gathering Oct. 31 will continue at the discretion of parents within the town.

"We took no position on this issue.  We expect Halloween to be celebrated tonight," Township Manager Lee Fulton said Wednesday.

Safety is always and issue during Halloween, and following a major storm with debris still covering some sidewalks and roadways, awareness for trick-or-treaters is a must.
