Springfield Among Nation's Best Communities For Music Education

The NAMM Foundation has recognized the Springfield School District's music education program as among the nation's best.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — The Springfield School District has been honored with a prestigious award recognizing its music education program.

The NAMM Foundation designated Springfield among its "Best Communities for Music Education" for 2019.

A total of 623 school districts from across the country were recognized.

According to the NAMM Foundation, the award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education.

In order to qualify for the award, schools must provide information regarding funding, graduation requirements, facilities, participation in music classes, and more.

The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas reviews all submissions.
