Springfield Crime Blotter: Fight, Theft, Vandalism, More

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between May 24 and May 25.

May 24 at 8:16 p.m.
Employees at Giant, 900 block of Baltimore Pike, reported a male had left the store with a shopping cart full of merchandise. He reportedly placed the items inside a suitcase outside and fled across Baltimore Pike. Officers found a suitcase in the rear of property on the 800 block Baltimore Pike. The suitcase contained the stolen items which were returned to Giant. The suspect was not located.
May 25 at 9:03 a.m.
The front window at Reedman Toll Chevrolet was shattered sometime overnight. Det. McCarthy is investigating.

May 25 at 1:18 p.m.
An employee at CVS, 300 block of Baltimore Pike, reported a male had just stolen items and ran out of the store. Responding officers did not locate the male but later found the male had run through properties towards Ogden Place. CVS employees reported they recognized the male from a prior theft. Det. McCarthy is investigating.
May 25 at 4:47 p.m.
Det. McNeely is investigating a fight incident which occurred at Williams Park during a basketball game. Multiple males were involved one of whom was injured, and the others fled the area.
