Springfield Crime Blotter: Meth, Vandalism, DUI, More

A man was charged after police said they fond methamphetamine and marijuana on him during a traffic stop May 5. See full details here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between May 4 and May 5.

May 4 at 1:56 p.m.
Employees at Reedman Toll Chevrolet, 800 block of Baltimore Pike, reported finding the front window to the business smashed out. The damaged occurred sometime overnight May 2 into May 3.

May 4 at 7:39 p.m.
A shopper at the Giant, 700 block of West Sproul Road, reported that while inside the store pushing a cart, someone removed her purse from the cart. It was later found that one of her credit cards was attempted to be used at a local Target Store. Det. Devaney is investigating.

May 5 at 1:29 a.m.
Ofc. Bergman stopped a vehicle on the 600 block of Baltimore Pike for a registration violation. During the investigation of the driver, he found the driver possessed marijuana and methamphetamine. The driver was taken into custody for drug possession. The 41-year-old male from Folcroft was later released, and drug charges will be filed.

May 5 at 11:25 a.m.
While on patrol, Ofc. Clifton observed a vehicle travelling west in the eastbound travel lane on the 200 block of Baltimore Pike. As the vehicle continued west, it turned into the Best Buy parking lot and drove over the median at the entrance. Contact was made with the driver who was found to be intoxicated. The 39-year-old male from Philadelphia was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. He was later released, and charges for DUI and traffic offenses are pending
