Springfield Crime Blotter: Road Rage, Drugs, Theft, More

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between April 26 and April 29.

April 26 at 10:29 a.m.
The township reported damage to a bench inside the Crowell Park, 200 block of Bellevue Avenue. The bench was damaged on the seat and the back and appeared to have been hit by a vehicle.

April 26 at 8:25 p.m.
A victim eating at the Outback Steakhouse 1100 block of Baltimore Pike had his wallet stolen. He reported that as he walked to the bathroom, a male bumped up next to him and acted like he was assisting him to the bathroom. The victim later realized his wallet was missing. He went outside the leave, and the male handed him the wallet claiming he had found it. The wallet was missing cash and a credit card. Det. McNeely is investigating.

April 27 at 3:02 p.m.
Officers were called to the Ichiban Buffet to investigate a male who was enjoying the buffet but who did not pay for the service. Officers arrived and observed the male being verbally aggressive with the employees. The male then left the business. Instead of leaving the area, the male walked around the parking lot threatening police, pulled at door handles to parked vehicles, and urinated. A female then joined the male, and it was learned that she had eaten inside the buffet without paying as well. The female attempted to calm the male, but the male became more aggressive and pulled an uncapped hypodermic needle and threatened to stab police. He was taken into custody, and it was found he had earlier ingested cocaine and heroin. The female was also taken into custody after she was found to have possessed crack cocaine. Zachary Parslow, 41, and Cheryl Kelly, 35, both of Philadelphia, were charged with drug and other offenses and taken to Delaware County Prison.

April 27 at 3:33 p.m.
Officers are investigating a road rage incident in which a driver reported that she had a verbal encounter with another driver along the 900 block of Baltimore Pike. The driver reported the other driver had thrown a lit cigarette into her vehicle through the open window. Ofc. Oswald is investigating.

April 28 at 12:54 a.m.
Ofc. Bierling located three subjects loitering in the rear of a business on the 800 block of Baltimore Pike. One of the subjects was a juvenile from Drexel Hill. The subject will be charged with the township curfew violation.

April 29 at 5:21 p.m.
Target security 800 block of Baltimore Pike reported a male had pushed a shopping cart full of Lego toys out of the store. The male met up with a female in the lot and both ran into the woods. Target reported over $1,000 worth of Legos were taken. Det. McNeely is investigating.
