On May 4 at 227 am Springfield Fire Company along with Bon Air (Engine 58) and Manoa (RIT 56) responded to a report of smoke in the home in the 400 block of Ridge Lane. The occupants reported that the smoke detector woke them up and the house was full of smoke. Deputy 44 (Foran) arrived and confirmed the report and requested a working fire dispatch. That brought Ladder 20 (Garretford-Drexel Hill), Quint 73 (Rose Tree) and RIT 23 (Media). Engine 44’s crew found the fire in the kitchen area near an appliance. The fire was quickly extinguished. Power was secured to the home. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the township fire marshal. The company was back in service around 430 am.
