On Thursday May 13 at 5am Springfield Fire Company responded to Chester Fire Department, Station 82 to cover while they were at a multi-alarm fire in their city. Squad 44 along with Squad 56 and Truck 53 stood by for 3 hours before being released. While there SFC responded to an accident on Baltimore Pike near 476 at 625 am. The accident was in Nether Providence Township and Engine 44-1 stood by until they arrived and handled the accident. At 711 am SFC responded to an accident with a vehicle into the Franklin Mint Credit Union. The cause of the accident is under investigation but may have been as a result of a medical emergency. The driver was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Engine 44-1 stood by until the vehicle was removed from the building and the scene turned over to police and L&I.
