Springfield Home Sales Up in First Half of 2013

The median price of the properties that sell continues to decrease.

Property settlements in Springfield Township during the first half of 2013 increased for the second year in a row. 

According to a report from Prudential Fox and Roach, there were 136 properties that closed from January to June, compared with 126 from last year.

The first half of 2011 saw 83 settlements, down from 121 the prior year.

The median price of the properties that did sell in the first six months of 2013 decreased 3.6 percent over the same period last year, from $250,000 to $241,000. That number was $250,000 and $275,000 in 2011 and 2010, respectively.

The average days on the market decreased by 14.4 percent from the first half of last year from 103 to 88 days.
