Springfield Hospital Gets $500K For Construction Costs

The grant money will help fund the renovation of space on the hospital's main floor to become the new home of the Center for Family Health.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Springfield Hospital has gotten a funding boost to support its efforts to transform part of its main floor.

State Rep. Jennifer O’Mara, D-Delaware announced the hospital was awarded $500,000 in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant funding.

This funding will be to put toward construction costs.

The hospital is renovating space on its main floor to become the new home of the Center for Family Health.

This will include 15 examination rooms, two counseling offices, a clinical support area, waiting area, nurse's station, staff lounge, lab and dedicated rooms for psychology, procedures, assessment/triage and other critical patient services.

“Ensuring the redevelopment and modernization of facilities throughout our district in part relies on state funding, so I’m proud to see this $3 million investment into our community,” O’Mara said. “Although these three projects are vastly different, they each contribute to the betterment of Delco in unique ways, especially during these unprecedented times.”

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects.
