Springfield Man Was Going 113 MPH Before Drunk Driving Crash That Killed One: Report
A police officer has testified that a Springfield man had been driving drunk at 110 mph just before crashing his car, killing one.

A police officer has testified that a Springfield man had been driving drunk at speeds in excess of 110 mph just before crashing his car in an accident that killed his friend, another Springfield man, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.
John J. McGough, 46, faces charges relating to the Dec. 26, 2014, accident, in which he crashed his 2012 Chevy Camaro into the back of a Jeep on North State Road. His passenger and friend, 51-year-old Edward M. Banes, died in the accident.
McGough faces charges homicide by vehicle while under the influence, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI and reckless endangerment.

Testifying before Judge Gregory Mallon, Ridley Park Police Officer Mark Hanly reportedly stated that black box data retrieved from McGough’s vehicle reveals that he had been driving 113 mph just 2.5 seconds before the crash, and then decelerated to 98 mph a half-second before the crash.
