Springfield Pet Valu Celebrating National Adoption Weekend
Local rescues will be at Pet Valu locations this weekend with animals up for adoption. Free pet food and store coupons will be provided.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – This weekend, from April 21 to April 23, pet stores, rescue organizations, and adoption agencies will celebrate National Adoption Weekend.
Local rescues will be at Pet Valu locations this weekend with a wide variety of animals up for adoption. Free pet food and store coupons will also be provided.
Last year, 927 animals around the country found homes during National Adoption Weekend.

Proceeds from pet bandana sales and decorative Paper Paws will be donated to shelters throughout April.
There are several Pet Valu locations in Delaware County, including at 104 Baltimore Pike in Springfield.

The company said that their fundraising efforts for 2017 has resulted in the following successes:
- 732 homeless cat and dog adoptions facilitated with local shelters
- 36,157 bags (a value of $211,148) of kitty litter donated to local shelters
- $171,215 raised for America’s VetDogs
- $164,584 raised for local animal cruelty prevention groups by 2017 calendar sales
