Additionally, the yellow plan allows in-person, co-curricular activities. In-person extra-curricular activities will take place following guidance from the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.
The green plan features full, in person learning five days a week, while the red plan features a fully virtual instructional model with synchronous and asynchronous learning.
District families can opt into the Springfield Virtual Academy in both the green and yellow plans. The academy is a fully accredited, online platform which provides courses for all students.
More information on the academy is available here and will be provided about the academy and registration in early August, the district said.
Also in the plan is a school start date shift. With the approval of the plan, school will now begin on Sept. 8.

As for health precautions, the district is requiring each student and staff member to supply their own face covering, but the district will provide a face shield for each staff member.
Students will be kept more than 6 feet apart and staff will be more than 8 feet apart from students.
Additionally, students will not be able to use lockers.
