Easttown Is Philly Region's 7th Most Expensive Suburb

EASTTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The bucolic landscape. The expansive, historic estates. The excellent schools. The proximity to Philadelphia and New York.

There are many obvious perks to living in Easttown. To enjoy them, you'll pay a hefty price.

Overall, Easttown is now the region's 7th most expensive place to purchase a home. That's according to an analysis by Philadelphia Magazine, which lists the Philadelphia region's 50 most expensive neighborhoods for home purchases.

The average home purchase price in Easttown in 2018 was $738,521 — down 4 percent from the year before.

Wayne was listed as the 18th most expensive suburb with an average 2018 price of $642,074, which is up four percent from the previous year.

Devon came in as the area's 24th priciest with an average home purchase price was $586,593, which is up five percent from the previous year.

Tredyffrin Township had an average 2018 home price of $502,490, up three percent from 2017.

Villanova, where last year's average purchase price was $1,125,280, was named the area's most expensive.

Several other Main Line communities are among the 50 most expensive places in the Philadelphia region, including Gladwyne (3rd), Radnor (8th) Bryn Mawr (11th), and Merion Station (13th).
