Breinigsville Woman Could Be Victim of Scam, Police Say

Upper Macungie police say loan company asked woman for cash upfront, but never provided loan.

A Breinigsville woman applied on-line for a loan, but was apparently cheated out of $194, Upper Macungie police said Thursday.

According to police, the 26-year-old woman applied for a cash advance loan, but was asked by the loan company to send in $194 via MoneyGram as proof she could make the payments.

Once that payment was made, her bank account would get the loan. Police say the woman sent the $194, but never heard from the loan company again.
