Car Thief Leads Officers on Chase, Police Say

Allentown resident Douglas Houser accused of driving stolen vehicle.

Upper Macungie police say an Allentown men led officers in a chase Saturday while driving a stolen car.

According to police, Douglas Houser, 45, was stopped around 4:22 p.m. Saturday at Grim Road and Route 222 for a traffic violation.

Police say Houser wouldn't pull over at first, but kept driving. When he finally stopped, he allegedly got out of his vehicle and ran before police caught him and took him into custody. 

Police say the vehicle Houser was driving turned out to have been reported stolen on Nov. 17. 

He was charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding police, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct and various traffic violations.
