'Good Samaritan' Helps Track Down Hit-and-Run Driver, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say a "Good Samaritan" helped them track down a driver who left the scene of a three-vehicle accident Monday on Grange Road.

According to police, the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. when Matthew Henzler, 25, of Lower Macungie was heading south on Grange Road near the Route 222 bypass and veered into the left-turn lane.

Police say Henzler's Jeep hit another car, driven by Alyssa Budraitis, 47, of Coopersburg. The force of that collision pushed her car into another car, driven by Karen Bray, 57, of Alburtis.

No injuries were reported. Budraitis' car was towed by Faust Towing.

Before police could respond, Henzler allegedly drove away. Another driver followed him to his home on Hillcrest Drive. 

Police say they determined Henzler had been driving while under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. DUI charges against him are pending the result of blood tests.
