Man Wields Knife in Dispute, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say a Breinigsville man is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment in connection with a dispute over the weekend.

A man who allegedly wielded a knife in a dispute in Breinigsville over the weekend is in Lehigh County Prison facing several charges, Upper Macungie police said.

Police say Cavin Maurice Williams, 45, allegedly brandished a 4-inch knife in a Breinigsville home about 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police said a woman was trying to leave the home when Williams grabbed her and allegedly shoved her against a bedroom dresser. Police said Williams allegedly approached her with the knife but she was able to leave before any physical contact occurred.

Online court records say Williams was arraigned by on-duty District Judge Donna R. Butler of Emmaus and charged with simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats.

He was remanded to Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $8,000 bail.
