This Week: Psychic Medium and Night at the Movies
The week's highlights include indoor volleyball, hoagie sales, a classical guitar concert and bingo.

The second full week of October is expected to feature cooler temperatures than we've seen over the weekend, with a chance of some much-needed rain.
Here's what you need to know this week in and around Upper Macungie Township:
- Psychic Medium Lauri Moore will appear Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Independent Park Community Center, located at 150 Independent Road in Breinigsville. Most recently, Lauri was a featured Psychic Medium in three episodes of the premiere season of Animal Planet’s new paranormal series “The Haunted." She is a frequent guest on the Lehigh Valley’s “The Hawk Morning Show,” and gives numerous lectures and private readings. For more information, click here, or call 610-395-4892. - The Parkland Community Library presents its monthly Night at The Movies Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Each month, the library hosts the exclusive screening of a unique and often award-winning film. Under the licensing agreement, the library is not permitted to list titles here. Please call 610-398-1361, or come into the library, at 4422 Walbert Ave in South Whitehall, for the information.
- The Parkland Community Library will host a concert by classical guitarist Zachary Grim Thursday at 7 p.m. Registration is required. Call 610-398-1362 to register.
- The Busy Bees of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fogelsville is taking hoagie order and selling Entertainment books this week. Call 610-395-3083 for more information.
- Indoor recreational volleyball take place Tuesday at Fogelsville Elementary School from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The program, sponsored by Upper Macungie Township, will run each Tuesday through March 25 with the exceptions of Dec. 10, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. - The Fogelsville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will host bingo at the firehouse, located at 7850 Lime Street in Fogelsville, on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the kitchen begins serving food at 5:45 p.m. For more information, call 610-395-5479.
- St. Paul's UCC Church in Trexlertown, located at 1249 Trexlertown Road in Trexlertown, will host a Zumba class Friday at 9:30 a.m.
- The Fogelsville Elementary School Book Fair kicks off Monday and lasts through Friday.
- The Jaindl Elementary School PTO will meet at the school at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
- A parent forum Fall workshop will take place Wednesday at Parkland High School, Room C220, at 7 p.m.
- The race for the Lehigh Valley Conference football title and a District 11 playoff berth is getting hot. The Parkland High school varsity football team is right in the middle of the fray. The Trojans will travel to Bethlehem Area School District Stadium Friday night to take on Freedom. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
