Get Your 'Ashes to Go' Wednesday at Local Train Stations

Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. There will 'Ashes to Go' in Ambler, Norristown and Philadelphia this evening.

Don’t let your busy day and long commute get in the way of your religious observations.

Several area churches are offering “Ashes to Go” this Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18. Priests will take to train stations and street corners to offer ashes marking the first day of Lent.

“We take ashes to the street corner because that reminder of need, humility, and healing shouldn’t be confined to a church building. We probably need it more when we are in the middle of our daily business,” according to the Ashes to Go website, a resource for locating unconventional locations to observe the start of Lent.
