Man Hit, Killed By SEPTA Train At Jenkintown-Wyncote Station

According to reports, the man was on the tracks when he was hit. It's unclear whether his death was accidental.

JENKINTOWN, PA — A man is dead after he was hit and killed by a train in Montgomery County on Saturday.

The fatality was confirmed by SEPTA, who said in a statement to NBC 10 that the man was hit by a Lansdale-Doylestown Line train around 10:30 a.m. at the Jenkintown-Wyncote Regional Rail Station.

The man was on the tracks when he was hit, SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch told the Philadelphia Inquirer, adding SEPTA’s signal systems had been working properly.

While there were no signs of foul play, Busch said it's unclear at this point whether the fatality was accidental. A police investigation is ongoing.

Several train lines, including the West Trenton, Warminster and Lansdale/Doylestown lines,were experiencing delays following the accident.
