Montgomery Co. HS Band Program Earns Prestigious National Award

The Montgomery County HS is the only school in the Eastern Division, covering a stretch from Maryland to Maine, to win the award.

ROYERSFORD, PA — Spring-Ford High School's band has been recognized with a prestigious national award.

The program earned the National Band Association Programs of Excellence Blue Ribbon Award, in the high school and middle school Eastern Division.

The award recognizes students in the Golden Rams Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble Blue and Gold, Winter Guard, and Winter Percussion.

“This is the first time that Spring-Ford has been recognized at the national level," Seth Jones, the band director at the school, said in a statement. "It is thanks to the dedication of our students, their families, our administrative team, and the entire school community that we have been honored with this award. To be part of our band is to be part of a family. The Spring-Ford band community is truly quite special."

Specifically, the award looks at programs that "promote standards of excellence" while challenging students at all levels.

Spring-Ford is the only high school in the Eastern Division, covering a stretch from Maryland to Maine, to win the award. A total of 14 programs were awarded nationwide.
