Rebuttal to " What I Expect From My State Representative"

A respectful rebuttal to Dr. Solot's article from a long time Upper Moreland and Hatboro Resident.

Dr Solot,

Before you write a article about Thomas Murt, you may want to do your homework on who Thomas Murt is. My wife and I have been home owners in Upper Moreland since 1990. Tom has held office with the Upper Moreland School Board He had been a Upper Moreland Commissioner for ten years in which her served honorably. When my children were small, Tom would walk to every house in his ward at Christmas time, this is Tom Murt . He resigned his position because he was called to active duty with the US Army for Operation: Iraqi Freedom with the 4th Infantry Division. From Tikrit,Iraq he worked with local Bedouin families and local government to remove hidden arms from all the schools and his battalion converted them back to schools again. He reached out to Upper Moreland residents to donate school supplies . Myself and my family and my Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack 336 were honored to donate to this cause which was locally called "Operation Pencil Box" . Over 500 lbs of supplies were gathered and shipped to Tikrit. Tom has come to every Eagle Ceremony, Community event he has been asked to do. He treats everyone with Respect. EVERYONE. Tom does not see Race, Religion , Gender , Sexual Orientation, he sees a citizen that he is honored to represent. In my adult life in Upper Moreland and Hatboro he is the politician people can depend on and trust. You will have a hard time finding anyone Republican or Democrat that does not like this man. I have been in a Wawa at 11 at night and there would be Tom, stopping in for a snack, coffee etc and be stopped by someone to say hi or to discuss an issue and he ALWAYS has the time to listen. I have never in 28 years seen Tom do anything but good , and also places other people's needs above his own and I am proud to call Tom Murt a friend . Mr. Boling will have massive shoes to fill if by some chance he wins the election because of what Tom does for his district. They will expect the same from him! Am I a Republican? Yes I am , but I don't stick to party lines, I vote for the person who will do the most good. I did not vote Republican during the presidential election. The best man for the job and the person people in Upper Moreland and Hatboro trust is already there.

Respectfully ,
