Upper Moreland Senior Home Residents Raise $11K In Scholarships

Senior residents at a Montgomery County nursing home are still finding ways to contribute to the community, even amid coronavirus.

UPPER MORELAND, PA — Senior residents at a Montgomery County nursing home are still finding ways to contribute to the community, even amid coronavirus.

A total of $11,000 in scholarship has been raised by seniors at Wesley Enhanced Living, a home located in Upper Moreland.

The funds will directly support 11 different employees who work in the home.

“Our employees make such a positive and lasting impact on the beloved residents," Lisa Haino, Wesley's director of marketing communications and special events, said in a statement. "“The ServeWEL scholarship program shows our gratitude and appreciation for these hard-working and outstanding high school juniors and seniors who support our residents and other staff members."

The ServeWEL program has been supporting student employees at Wesley homes since it was founded in 2006.

“Each of these employees has shown their dedication to enhancing the lives of seniors," Haino added. "We hope that these scholarships serve as a reminder to them that the residents and staff of WEL Upper Moreland are supporting them from afar as they pursue their dreams."

In the past 14 years, more than $100,000 in scholarship money has been raised.
