Willow Grove Park Mall Mostly Closed As Yellow Phase Begins

WILLOW GROVE, PA — Willow Grove Park remains mostly closed as Montgomery County moves into the yellow phase of the state's reopening plan, with a few small changes indicating that some things are at least starting to get back to normal.

Preit, the owner of Willow Grove Park, has not yet announced a formal "reopening" date for the entire mall, or for their other local property, Plymouth Meeting Mall. And even once they do reopen, shopping is likely to look quite different for some time, with crowd limits, social distancing measures, and other coronavirus containment strategies put into place, as evidenced by other malls that have reopened nationwide.

Several Preit malls nationwide did open in May and early June. Floor decals are in place to ensure social distancing, hand sanitizing stations are located through the malls, play areas are closed, restroom use is limited, food court seating has been either eliminated or greatly reduced, air quality is being monitored more closely, and all mall personnel receive temperature screenings daily.

Preit did not immediately respond to a Patch request for comment on this story.

In the meantime, Willow Grove Park is operating under some altered procedures.

On Monday, the mall announced they had launched "Mall2Go," a new contact-free order option for stores within the mall. Participating stores at Willow Grove include Kay Jewelers, Pandora, and Snipes.

Pickup parking spots are located at Entrance 3 Main, the Carousel Entrance.

Some public facing department stores, like Nordstrom Rack, could choose to open on their own. However, Nordstrom has not yet announced an opening date for their Willow Grove location.

Restaurants at Willow Grove Park are also open for takeout, including Cheesecake Factory, Yard House, and TGI Fridays. Chick-fil-A has delivery and takeout.
