Willow Grove Park Mall Will Be Closed On Thanksgiving Day
The mall also announced plans to expand its weekend hours next month.
PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — Willow Grove Park Mall will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, owners announced Friday. They join King of Prussia Mall and all other major area shopping malls in closing for the holiday this year amid the pandemic.
All Preit-owned malls will be closed for the holiday, including the nearby Plymouth Meeting Mall. They will be open Black Friday.
Simon Malls announced last week that King of Prussia, Montgomery Mall, Philadelphia Premium Outlets, and all of their other properties would be closed.

“As consumer demands and priorities shift, we continue to be responsive and are grateful to the associates running our properties and the stores, entertainment venues and restaurants within them,” Joseph F. Coradino, chairman and CEO of Preit, said in a statement Monday.
Preit pointed specifically to the challenges faced by frontline workers in 2020 and the desire to let them spend time wiht their families.

In addition, the mall will expand their weekend hours on Friday and Saturday evenings to 8 p.m., beginning on Oct. 2.
Preit reported a $29.2 million loss for this year as a result of being closed during the pandemic.
