Coopersburg Hopes to Draw Big Crowds for Small Business Saturday
With Black Friday deals fading into the sunset, Small Business Saturday is looking to keep up the momentum for local business owners
Though Black Friday is churning this morning with hot holiday deals, a smaller, lesser-known day is rapidly approaching. Small Business Saturday, which starts tomorrow, hopes to draw large crowds to the Main Street shops consumers might overlook in their rush for big bargains.Â
In Coopersburg, Main street is ready for the rush.
As part of Small Business Saturday, Coopersburg is throwing the doors of Main St. open to invite holiday shoppers to keep their dollars local. Â

Shopping local is so much more than buying gifts says Mary Himmelberger, who sits on the Coopersburg Business Revitalization Project (CBRP).
"When you shop at a Coopersburg business, you are supporting the entire community. Coopersburg’s businesses give it 'character.' Merchants donate time, product, or money to local community events & groups. Plus, by frequenting one borough business you are probably supporting another— they use each other."

"Local business serves you as an individual, not just another customer. They want you to come back for return business; they want you to tell your friends about their quality service. They need you as much as you need them. You are not just a 'sale' to them; you are a 'relationship.'"
