Hurricane Sandy Claims Another Life...in Southern Lehigh

Hurricane Sandy claims another Lehigh Valley victim as a man dies following an accident when he was removing storm debris on Saturday.

Hurricane Sandy hit Southern Lehigh hard with storm damage and power outages - and now a fatality, according to the Lehigh County coroner.

Jerome Tyson, 38, of New Tripoli, was pronounced dead Saturday in the emergency department of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. 

Tyson was clearing debris from the hurricane at 6761 Crown Lane in Upper Milford when the accident occurred. Officials declined to elaborate on the cause of death until after an autopsy, which will be performed later today.

At least four other Lehigh Valley residents died as a result of the storm.
