Let’s Get This Pawty Started!

Last Chance Ranch Tails and Ties Rescue Gala Online Auction Begins March 31, 2021, Closes with Virtual Celebration on April 10, 2021

Animal rescues are used to adapting to changing circumstances and mastering the pivot. Quakertown-based Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue (LCR) is no different. So, when the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic meant the cancellation of their key in-person fundraisers and the closure of their thrift store for four months, they immediately applied their creativity to online events to meet the expenses and continue caring for the animals in their care.

This focus on virtual events continues with their largest fundraising event of the year, the Tails and Ties Rescue Gala. This year, the event is a Virtual Pawty at Home and begins Wednesday, March 31, 2021 with an online auction that will continue through to Saturday, April 10, 2021. The online auction includes once in a lifetime trips to destinations like Italy, Ireland, Iceland, Aruba, Costa Rica, California, Key West, and more thanks to LCR’s non-profit partner, AmFund. There are no blackout dates and the trips do not expire until 2024. Starting at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, attendees will enjoy a virtual Cocktail Pawty featuring adoptable pets followed by The Mane Event, a series of fun and educational videos focusing on LCR’s mission.

To attend, simply head to this website starting March 31, 2021 for the online auction and April 10, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. for the Gala: https://one.bidpal.net/2021gala/welcome. Attendees who donate $150 to the event, are at least 21 years old, and live within 40 miles of Quakertown will receive a hand delivered Pawty Box full of spirits, snacks, and fun to enjoy throughout the evening.

“Our goal for this year’s Tails and Ties is to raise $100,000 for the continued care of animals in need” said Jackie Burke, LCR executive director. “Even though we faced financial challenges in 2020, we had a large increase in adoptions. In 2020 we had 1,065 animal adoptions, which is 120 more than in 2019. Surprisingly we also had a large increase in equine adoptions, with a total of 74! At the same time, we increased our owner surrender intake to help individuals suffering due to financial hardship or health during the pandemic.”
