Man Enters Coopersburg Home...With Residents Inside
Joshua M. Slotter, 24, is accused of felony criminal trespass after walking into a Coopersburg home with the family sitting in the living room.

A Coopersburg family is recovering from a shock after an intoxicated man walked into their home through a side door while they sat inside.Â
According to a criminal complaint, Coopersburg police were dispatched to a neighborhood with a description of a man suspected of entering a home illegally. The suspect was described as a white male with a shaved head wearing black shorts and a gray tank top.Â
Police located the man, later identified as Joshua M. Slotter, 24, in the neighborhood while on the way to the residents' home "on the sidewalk, staggering and having difficulty [walking] with a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage."

When asked what he was doing in the neighborhood, Slotter replied, "I don't care," the complaint says. Police handcuffed Slotter and placed him in the back of a cruiser.Â
The complaint goes on to say that the residents told the police they were sitting in the living room when Slotter entered through an unlocked side door. When the adult male of the house approached Slotter, he attempted to leave, taking the time to lose his shoe and put it back on before exiting.

The male goes on to say that Slotter attempted to enter the home again, but when the male started yelling at Slotter, Slotter walked away.Â
According to court records, Slotter has been convicted of theft on several occasions dating back to 2009.
He is charged with felony criminal trespass, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. He was in Lehigh County Prison and his preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 7.Â
