Aftermath: The 2012 Coopersburg Fall Storm
Some say tornado, some say heavy winds. What everyone agrees on is that severe weather ripped through Coopersburg Saturday, leaving broken trees, uprooted flag poles and downed power lines.
Saturday's storm may have passed, but the cleanup in is well under way.Â
The storm, which residents described as "brief and intense," ripped through the Lehigh Valley, but Coopersburg was hit hardest. Damage included broken and damages trees, uprooted and bent flagpoles, downed power lines and debris.Â
Damage was concentrated in several areas throughout town, while others remained untouched. The largest areas of damage included Thomas Street, Landis Street and the area around the VFW, where community organizers are working to remove downed trees in time for Â

While some claim the storm was actually a tornado, a National Weather Service official confirmed the agency was not called by Lehigh County to come and complete a storm damage assessment.Â
Coopersburg Borough will be picking up storm debris on Thursday for residents. In an , the borough reminds residents that the pickup will only be for branches and brush. Anything over 3 inches in diameter will be left at the residence.Â
