Weather Forecast: More Snow Coming to Lehigh Valley Next Week?

It seems Mother Nature is planning a sequel of last year’s winter season.

The Lehigh Valley snow season has already started this year after receiving a fairly significant amount of snow the day before Thanksgiving, which affected travel plans for many. The National Weather Service has now issued a hazardous weather outlook warning of a possible storm early next week.

“A coastal storm may impact the area in the Monday night through Tuesday night time frame,” the hazardous weather outlook said. “The track of this low remains uncertain, and will determine the westward extent of the precipitation. Some wintry precipitation could occur, especially north and west of the fall line/Interstate 95 Corridor.”

The NWS is forecasting a 40 percent chance of rain or snow on Monday night and Tuesday, dropping to a 30 percent on Tuesday night.

The weekend is predicted to be wet. The NWS is calling for 100 percent rain on Friday night and 90 percent chance of rain on Saturday.

Here is the National Weather Service forecast for the Lehigh Valley through Tuesday:

• Saturday: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 50. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
• Saturday Night: Periods of rain before 5am, then a slight chance of rain and snow. Low around 32. North wind 6 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
• Sunday: A slight chance of rain and snow before 8am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. North wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.
• Monday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40.
• Monday Night: A chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Tuesday: A chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Tuesday NightA chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
