A second Bucks County community has announced it will make a bid for Amazon's second corporate headquarters.

A second Bucks County community has announced it will make a bid for Amazon's second corporate headquarters. The online giant is accepting requests for proposals through Thursday in its quest for a second headquarters.
Bristol Township is proposing Amazon locate at Maple Beach, a property on the banks of the Delaware River that has direct access to multiple highways and public transit, according to information provided by Township Manager William McCauley.
"Bristol Township is a community on the rise," Township Council President Craig Bowen wrote in a letter to Amazon that was submitted Wednesday.

The site is just under 800 acres, and of that, the township is proposing Amazon utilize 279 acres. The property is currently owned by Dow Chemical Company, which has an interest in selling, according to the township. Bristol Township and the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority would coordinate in the acquisition, redevelopment and rezoning of the property, information from the township said.
Tax breaks and other compelling incentives will be offered, Bowen said in the letter.

Bristol is the second Bucks County community to announce a bid for the second headquarters. Bensalem has too, proposing the company locate on 675 acres of largely undeveloped riverfront property.
Amazon has set specific criteria for the those applying for the second headquarters, including:
- Metropolitan areas with more than one million people
- Urban or suburban locations with a significant labor pool with expertise in computer software development and engineering, executive management, legal and accounting
- Direct access to mass transportation on site and real estate and infrastructure to support a minimum 500,000 square feet of space that can expand over time to support up to eight million square feet
