Adm Michael S. Rogers, United States Navy, Will Speak At Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce Annual Luncheon on March 8

The Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Luncheon on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Spring Mill Country Club, 80 Jacksonville Road, Ivyland, Pa. The featured speaker for the event will be Admiral Michael S. Rogers, United States Navy, Commander, United States Cyber Command, Director, National Security Agency/Chief Central Security Service. The event is sponsored by Covenant Bank, Independence Blue Cross and Grand View Health.
Admiral Rogers is a native of Chicago and a graduate of Auburn University. He received his commission via the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps. He first worked as a surface warfare officer, then he was chosen for re-designation in 1986 to cryptology, now known as Information Warfare. His duties afloat included service as a surface warfare officer on the USS Caron (DD 970); at the strike group level as the senior cryptologist on the staff of Commander, Carrier Group Two/John F. Kennedy Carrier Strike Group; and on the staff of Commander U.S. 6th Fleet embarked in USS Lasalle (AGF 3) as the fleet information operations officer and fleet cryptologist. His land-based duties included commanding the Naval Security Group Activity Winter Harbor, Maine (1998-2000) and serving at the Naval Security Group Department, NAVCOMSTA Rota, Spain, Naval Military Personnel Command, Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, the Bureau of Personnel as the cryptologic junior officer detailer; and Commander, Naval Security Group Command as aide and executive assistant (EA) to the commander. Since becoming an admiral in 2007, Rogers served as Director of Intelligence for both the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the U.S. Pacific Command. Recently, he was the Commander of the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. TENTH Fleet.

About Admiral Michael S. Rogers
A native of Chicago, Admiral Michael S. Rogers is the Commander U.S. Cyber Command and Director, National Security Agency/Chief, Central Security Service. Since becoming an admiral, Rogers has served as the director of Intelligence for both the Joint Chiefs of Staff and U.S. Pacific Command, and most recently as Commander, U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. TENTH Fleet.
He graduated from Auburn University in 1981 and received his commission via Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps. Rogers started his naval career as a surface warfare officer and was selected for re-designation to cryptology (now Information Warfare) in 1986.

Kennedy Carrier Strike Group. He was also on the staff of Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet embarked in USS Lasalle (AGF 3) as the fleet information operations (IO) officer and fleet cryptologist. Rogers also lead cryptologic direct support missions aboard U.S. submarines and surface units in the Arabian Gulf and Mediterranean.
Land-based duties included commanding the Naval Security Group Activity Winter Harbor, Maine (1998-2000) and serving at the Naval Security Group Department, NAVCOMSTA Rota, Spain and at the Naval Military Personnel Command, Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, the Bureau of Personnel as the cryptologic junior officer detailer. Rogers also worked in the Naval Security Group Command as aide and executive assistant (EA) to the commander.
Rogers is a distinguished graduate of the National War College and a graduate of highest distinction from the Naval War College. He is also a Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI fellow, Harvard Senior Executive in National Security alum, and holds a Master of Science in National Security Strategy.
