The shocked reactions on social media poured in under his final post.
"You touched us all in one way or another and have changed our course all for the better. You and what you brought to this plane of existence will be missed. Your vision and ability to express what was inside will forever influence us," one friend wrote.

Here is his full obituary:
Joel W. Harrar died suddenly Friday, May 12, 2017, in a motorcycle accident in Denver, Colo., where he lived. He was 25. He was a loving son and brother, and a loyal friend to hundreds of people.
From his school days at Calvary Christian Academy to living in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and eventually Colorado, Joel encountered and touched the lives of so many people.
He was a frequent goer of music festivals, where his free spirit would soar and he and his family dubbed their famous saying, 'big world small circles'.
Joel, a gifted artist, always had his sketchbook in arms reach, notorious for zoning out and doodling his doodies and paisleys. He made his own t-shirts, hat pins, coloring books, and was even getting started on his own line of leggings before he was taken from us.
He loved snow boarding, long boarding, and especially music, always bobbing his head to a tune or serving up some soul with his harmonica.
Joel's light was one that shined like no other. The love and compassion he had in his heart and shared with so many is what keeps him alive, today and forever.
He is survived through his parents, Tracy and Billy; his sister, Shannon; paramour, Tristin; and the hundreds of friends, family, and even strangers, who were lucky enough to know and love his beautiful soul.
A memorial service will be held for Joel at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, at St. John's Anglican Church, 1150 Bristol Road, Southampton. A celebration of Joel's life will follow afterwards, across the street at Churchville Studios. All are welcome to come remember the wonderful life of Joel, run with the breeze, trust and believe.
