Crews Battle Overnight Fire In Upper Southampton
Emergency crews were called to the 900 block of Longfield Drive shortly after 2 a.m. on Wednesday.
UPPER SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Emergency responders in Upper Southampton were called in the early morning hours Wednesday to a house fire.
Just after 2 a.m., Upper Southampton Police Department officers responded to the 900 block of Longfield Drive, police Lt. Craig Rudisill said. They discovered an active chimney fire at the home and cleared the family from the dwelling as crews from the Southampton Fire Company and others arrived on scene.
According to the fire company, there was heavy smoke showing and fire on the home's exterior when firefighters arrived. They shared a Facebook post that said one firefighter was taken to the hospital after feeling light-headed while battling the blaze.
