DeLorenzo's Plans For Bucks County Location Move Forward

DeLorenzo’s Tomato Pies has received zoning board approval for a Lower Makefield Township location.

The famous pizzeria, which has hopes of opening a Bucks County location, received the approval on July 21, BucksLocalNews.com reported.

Under the current application, the 4,000-square-foot, 90-seat pizzeria would be built on 1.25-acres at Edgewood Road, BucksLocalNews.com said.

The application will now go in front of the Planning Commission and the Lower Makefield Board of Supervisors for further approval, the publication said.

In January 2014, DeLorenzo’s abandoned an effort to open a location in Newtown Township on Newtown-Yardley Road at the site of the former Newtown Veterinary Hospital.

“My client has determined that the feasibility of the project is in question and because of the tremendous financial commitment that must be made to proceed, my client has elected to abandon the project,” the restaurant’s attorney wrote in a letter to Newtown Township.

De Lorenzo’s Tomato Pies are famous throughout the region. The pizzeria first opened in Trenton in 1947.
