Did Your School Make It? 10 Bucks-Area Schools Lauded As Best In State, Nation

Bucks and Montgomery Counties are home to several of the state’s - and the country’s - top high schools, according to a new study.

New Hope-Solebury High School was ranked 2nd in Pennsylvania and 210th in the nation in a new list released by U.S. News and World Report.

The annual rankings analyze four key metrics for each school: student-to-teacher ratio, average student proficiency in mathematics, average student proficiency in literature, and college readiness score.

The readiness score judges a school’s AP exams and results. This scale was a boost for many of the local institutions that made the list.

Overall, 77 Pennsylvania high schools achieved a national ranking. The local schools that made the cut included:

15. Wissahickon High School

19. Central Bucks East High School

25. Plymouth Whitemarsh High School

28. Souderton Area High School

29. Central Bucks South High School

49. Abington Senior High School

50. North Penn High School

66. Quakertown Community High School

Over 21,000 schools from around the United States were included in the report.
