Firefighters Battle House Fire In Upper Southampton

The fire, at a home on Knowles Avenue, was under control by about 3 p.m., according to Upper Southampton Township Police.

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON, PA — A house fire that firefighters were battling in Upper Southampton Friday afternoon is now under control.

The fire was at a home on Knowles Avenue, according to Upper Southampton Township Police. They were urging residents to stay clear of the area while firefighters worked.

According to authorities, fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the home.

At about 3 p.m., police said the fire had been contained and that fire companies were working to extinguish hot spots and make sure the area was safe. Knowles Avenue was expected to be closed "for some time," police said in a Facebook post.

Parents of children attending school at nearby Our Lady of Good Counsel were instructed to pick up their children via the Second Street Pike entrance.
