At 8:21 a.m., Upper Southampton Police officers responded to Southampton Office Park, at 928 Jaymor Rd., to a report of an armed man wearing a bulletproof vest. Callers told police the man had gotten out of a vehicle and walked across the parking lot to enter a building.

Upon investigating, officers learned that the man was an off-duty security guard who was picking up a relative from an appointment in the complex. He was legally carrying a handgun, which was properly retained in a holster, and wasn't wearing a bulletproof vest but "had on a shirt which resembled one from a distance."
In a news release, police thanked tenants of the complex and the nearby community for their assistance in resolving the situation.
