Habitat For Humanity Donation Spot Opening In Southampton

The "donation station" will be staffed and at the site of a former gas station.

SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Soon, you won't even need to know how to swing a hammer to help out Habitat for Humanity in Southampton.

Habitat Bucks Restore will be opening a "donation station" in Southampton on Nov. 2. The station, where you can donate items to the group for its mission providing housing for all, will be at the former gas station on the corner of Street Road and Knowles Avenue.

It will be staffed and open Tuesday-Saturday, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

From furniture, cabinets, appliances and building supplies to home decor and electronics, all sorts of donations will be accepted as Habitat works to provide affordable housing.

"We are excited to offer this drop-off location to residents of the greater Southampton area," says B.J. Breish, director of Habitat Bucks Restore. "We are hopeful that the community will embrace this new venture and we will be able to collect even more donations for our stores to help fund the mission of Habitat for Humanity in Bucks County."

The Bucks County ReStore program has raised more than $1 million to support the Habitat for Humanity mission. In the past fiscal year, the group diverted 3.7 million pounds of materials from landfills by the sale of donated goods and various recycling efforts.

The following donations, which are tax-deductible, will be accepted:

  • Household furniture
  • Home decor (please box or bag)
  • Building materials
  • Appliances (large and small)
  • Miscellaneous household electronics

You may visit Bucks Habitat Restore's websiteif you have questions about an item you want to donate. The group also will pick up large items like dressers, couches, dining sets and the like. To schedule a free pickup, you may call 215-822-2708 or schedule online at Habitatbucks.org/restore.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStores are located in Chalfont and Langhorne. They are open to the public and sell new and used furniture, appliances, building supplies and the like at less than retail prices.

The stores provide funding for Habitat Bucks’ affordable home ownership and repair programs. All donations are tax deductible.
