Heat, Storms to Intensify in Upper Southampton This Week

An extended heat wave is under way in the  Upper Southampton Township area and it will get worse before it gets better, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service.

Expect the heat to intensify Tuesday through Thursday when the heat index could climb into the mid to high 90s.

Every day this week brings a chance of thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe with strong, gusty winds and downpours. Stronger, more organized and widespread storms are expected later this week, the Weather Service says.
