Philadelphia Flower Show Opens Saturday
This year's theme is "Celebrate the Movies" and will feature floral designs and gardens inspired by Hollywood.

Treat yourself to a dose of spring at the annual Philadelphia Flower Show, which opens Saturday and runs through March 8.
This year’s theme is “Celebrate the Movies” and will feature floral designs and gardens inspired by Hollywood.
The show, held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, will showcase flower exhibits inspired by popular films, including “Cars, “Frozen,” and “Maleficent,” according to the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

The 2015 flower show will feature the following highlights:
- A red carpet will lead visitors through an Art Deco theater facade with a 29-foot high marquee of flowers and more than neon 200 lights
- An Entrance Garden inspired by the interiors of 1920s movie palaces, with towering juniper and palm trees and grand chandeliers dripping with blossoms, moss, jewels and fabrics
- Sweeps of 800 hostas will surround the planters of the a rose garden
- An 8-foot centerpiece of cut roses and other blossoms—the largest arrangement ever created for a Flower Show entrance.
- 1,500 calla lilies in yellow, lavender, peach-orange and plum
- 1,400 ferns
- A sculpture of a deconstructed film projector by Chris Kanienberg of Wish Painting and Sculpture
- Popcorn and other movie theater treats available for purchase in the garden concession stand
Tickets for the Philadelphia Flower Show are $27 for adults if purchased by Feb. 27. Purchase tickets online at theflowershow.com.
