SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Looking to learn to code? The Southampton Free Library is expanding its coding club, adding more options for kids, as well as a new class for interested adults.
Looking to give more people the chance to learn computer coding, the library is adding additional times for the club. There now will be sessions for kids every other Wednesday at 5 p.m.
The Adult Coding Club will begin March 4 and be on Monday afternoons from 3-5 p.m. and Thursday evenings from 6-8 p.m.

The Prenda Coding Club will allow participants to learn how to code websites, apps, games, and more through self-paced, fun projects. Anyone can join the club at any point in time and can work at their own pace.
For children, the club is recommended for 4th grade and up. Participants must be able to work without adult assistance on projects.

Adults of all ages will be welcome and must have a basic knowledge of computers. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops, but laptops also will be available at the library.
"By expanding our offerings of the Coding Club, we hope to encourage all age groups to develop their knowledge and increase their coding skills," said outreach librarian Elizabeth Griswold. "We want everyone to understand that coding is not something to be intimidated by, but rather something everyone can accomplish."
