Troop 153's Joseph Oberlander Earns the Rank of Eagle Scout

Eagle Scout Joseph Oberlander completed a project for his troop's chartered organization- Assumption BVM Church in Feasterville.

Joseph Oberlander is Troop 153’s newest Eagle Scout. Joseph chose his troop’s chartered organization, Assumption BVM Roman Catholic Church in Feasterville, as the beneficiary of his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project.

Using his carpentry skills, Joseph led a team of volunteers to construct a 25 foot-long wooden coat rack and shelf until for the church. Previously, there was no place to hang coats when the church hosted large functions. Joseph dedicated the project in the memory of the late Rev. William F. “Father Bill” McGeown.

Joseph counts the many friendships he made in 11 years of scouting as the highlight of his trail to Eagle. He attended several summer camps with his troop and served as a Patrol Leader and Historian. Joseph is a Brotherhood member of Order of the Arrow Ajapeu Lodge.

The son of Eugene and Christine Oberlander of Trevose, Joseph is a member of the Bucks County Technical High School’s class of 2016. There, he studied the cabinetmaking and carpentry trades. He has recently taken the Union Apprenticeship Qualifying Test and looks forward to becoming a sponsored apprentice.
