Upper Southampton Police Arrest Man For Burglary

Officers arrived to find a front window broken and someone standing directly inside the home, police say.

UPPER SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Police in Upper Southampton say they arrested a man in the act of burglarizing a home early Thursday morning.

Charles Robert Segear, Jr., 30, is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and loitering in the incident in the 1000 block of Churchville Road.

Police say officers were called at 5:49 a.m. by the home's owner, who was awakened by hearing glass shattering and noises coming from inside the home. Officers arrived to find a front window broken and someone standing directly inside.

They ordered the man, later identified as Segear, to the ground and took him into custody without incident, police said. Police say Segear had no known relationship with the home's residents.

Authorities say Segear was unable to pay 10% of the $50,000 bail set for him and was taken to Bucks County Correctional Facility.
