Pocopson Twp. Is Among Philly Region's Most Expensive Suburbs

The average sale price in Pocopson Twp. in 2018 was $597,082, making it one of the most expensive Philly suburbs to buy a home.

POCOPSON TOWNSHIP, PA — The rolling greenery and open space of Chester County is perhaps embodied better nowhere else than it is in Pocopson Township, straddling Brandywine Creek and just a short distance from both Longwood Gardens and downtown West Chester.

Those factors have long drawn residents to the area, driving up real estate prices to make it one of the most expensive zip codes in the area.

That's according to an analysis by Philadelphia Magazine, which lists the Philadelphia region's 50 most expensive neighborhoods for home purchases.

Pocopson's average 2018 price for a home was $597,082, the study states, putting at number 21 overall in the region.

The leader in the Philadelphia area for pricy real estate is Villanova, where last year's average purchase price was $1,125,280.

Several other Chester County communities made the top 50 list, including Easttown (7), Newlin (10), Charlestown (17), Pennsbury (19), Thornbury (20), Devon (24), West Vincent (25), Willistown (30), West Pikeland (32), and several more.
